Wilson Yates
DISTINGUISHED PROFESSOR EMERITUS OF RELIGION, SOCIETY AND THE ARTS
Wilson Yates is Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Religion, Society and the Arts at United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities. He is an ordained minister in the United Methodist Church with dual standing in the United Church of Christ. He is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University (BA), Vanderbilt Divinity School (MDiv) and Harvard University (PhD), and has been a visiting scholar at Cambridge University and Yale Divinity School and a visiting professor at Pacific School of Religion, Berkeley. In 1998, he founded the journal ARTS: The Arts in Religious and Theological Studies and continues to serve as senior editor. He has written extensively on the arts in theological education, most recently editing Arts, Theology, and the Church: New Intersections, with alum Kimberly Vrudny. He is considered one of the key educational figures in the dialogue between the arts and the religious dimension.
