How Much Does United Theological Seminary Cost?

Approximate Total Tuition and Fees for 2024–2025

Master of Arts = $27,716
Master of Arts in Leadership = $36,788
Master of Arts in Ministry = $27,716
Master of Divinity = $54,932
Doctor of Ministry = $28,066

 

Tuition for degree courses is $755 per credit hour. Annually, master’s degree tuition is $20,385 for a full-time course load of 9 credits per term and $10,193 for a half-time course load of 3 to 6 credits per term. Annual DMin tuition is $18,120 for a full-time course load of 8 credits per term and $9,060 for a half-time course load of 4 credits per term. Tuition for courses applied towards completion of a certificate is $550 per credit hour.

The fee for auditing a course is $300.

Apply For Financial Aid

United’s financial aid office can help you secure the following four types of funding:

  • Federal Loans: Applications are accepted year-round.
  • Need-Based Aid: This is based on your Estimated Family Contribution from the FAFSA.
  • Merit-Based Aid (Dayton Scholarship): This is based on student information, a personal essay, and documentary evidence. The application deadline is March 15.
  • Scholarships: See the list below for more application details.

To apply for federal loans, need-based aid, and most scholarships, you must first complete a FAFSA Form.

Merit Scholarship (Dayton Scholarship)
Application materials are due on or before March 15 for the next academic year.

A select number of master’s degree students are chosen to be Dayton Scholars. To be eligible, a student should demonstrate excellence in academic and intellectual achievement, personal characteristics and qualities, leadership capacity in both interpersonal and group contexts, service orientation, and religious or spiritual commitment. Applicants are considered from three perspectives: student information, a personal essay, and documentary evidence. Merit awards can cover a limited number of consecutive years, provided the student maintains financial aid eligibility and remains in good academic standing.
