Partners with the Church

United Theological Seminary is a partner in ministry with the church. Along with preparing students for ordained and lay ministry, United also supports ongoing Christian education through:

Offering Continuing Education services to religious leaders through on-campus courses and workshops (courses can be audited for a nominal fee)
Hosting lectures, concerts, and events promoting thoughtful dialogue on religious and civic issues
Making library resources available to clergy and other church leaders
Providing dynamic faculty, staff, and student presenters for church-based programming

United Theological Seminary is an ecumenical seminary of the United Church of Christ. This ecumenical commitment includes:

Promoting ecumenical and interfaith dialogue and learning among students, faculty, staff, and the wider community
Fostering open-hearted and open-minded approaches to religious questions
Working in partnerships with diverse denominations and faith communities

United Theological Seminary’s church partners support the seminary’s ministry by:

Identifying and referring persons with gifts for ministry
Serving as internship sites for students in contextual education
Providing financial support through the seminary’s Annual Fund, the CUE program, student scholarships, and other directed gifts
Participating in United’s public events
