Exhibits

The seminary has four gallery areas where exhibits that treat religious themes rotate during the school year. The Classroom Gallery, the Spencer Library Gallery, the McMillan Gallery, and the gallery space in the Bigelow Chapel feature group and solo shows with historical and contemporary works by local and national artists. Students, faculty, and staff live, study, and teach in and around these exhibits. The presence of the art contributes to imaginative experience and becomes an extension of the classroom learning experience.

Beauty that Speaks
What happens when artists and faith communities
talk about social responsibility?
August - October

Multiple faith communities in the Minneapolis area are cosponsoring Beauty that Speaks, a series of exhibitions and presentations addressing the basic communities needs that make for wholeness and justice for all. The project was born out of a desire to invite the arts to lead us in a public conversation about what contributes to vital, strong, just communities. The exhibitions are gathered around the broad themes of sustenance, empowerment, citizenship, peace, and environment.

“Climate Change” and Namaste—“The Spirit in You Meets the Spirit in Me” - two exhibits at the seminary, are part of Beauty that Speaks.
