Community Life
Community
life is a central part of the seminary experience and emerges
in small group work, worship, festive occasions, and
gatherings in the halls and Context
Café.
Community
at United Theological Seminary is a fabric — colorful,
warm, strong, and gentle in its welcome. Relationships built
in
this community
are often relationships that last a lifetime.
United
draws students from regions throughout
the country,
with the largest number coming from the Midwest. Committed
to nurturing and developing a multicultural student body,
United’s Campbell
Scholarship program draws international students
from many continents and a variety
of ethnic
and racial backgrounds. Gender equality is respected and
advocated. United is also open to and affirming of students
of all sexual orientations.
Some
students begin their studies at United right out of college,
others after considerable life experience in other contexts.
Together, they create a
diversity which adds depth to the learning experience and
contributes to a lively community life.
